JAKE STEPHENSON PHOTOGRAPHY

This photograph represents the pinnacle of my experience as a wildlife photographer. Classified as endangered by the WWF it was phenominal to see not only an Orangutan but a baby in the wild. It will be a memory that stays with me forever

A spark of colour in the Bornean jungle. This photo was taken whilst in a boat traveling through the jungle so getting the detail was tricky!

I love these monkeys! They are so emotive and charismatic and playful yet that is tied in with how they seem to be seen by everyone as a pest (including even me after seeing at least fifty over the space of an hour in the jungle). An animal with two sides.

Another endangered species from Borneo. There is something quite striking about seeing an Elephant in the jungle. Somewhere along the line it must have really worked for them but now sadly due to deforestation they are not doing too well.

I like that this photograph really just represents an interruption of grooming time.

Taken from the seat of a car at the deer feeding section of the safari park. I was amazed by the way the light was absorbed by the eye

During rutting season these animals become such a timeless spectacle. With the antlers on full display and their guttural sounds in the air, it is a reminder of how incredible British wildlife can be.

One of the first photographs I was really proud of. Back then I was focused on getting the clearest, and sharpest image possible and not as concerned with 'representing' the subject. But then what more can you do with an insect anyway!
